Seek a partnership with New Mexico’s Attorney General to institute a Border Violence Unit to see that all residents of Doña Ana County receive fair treatment. It is not the job of local law enforcement to interpret or enforce immigration laws. I envision a unit that will advocate for all residents right to receive protection by local law enforcement. Too often crimes are not reported due to fear of questionable immigration status. Crimes that if not investigated can lead to individuals posing a greater threat to communities....

Work with area law enforcement to develop the county's first Air Division that would have the ability to reduce response time in extreme circumstances anywhere in our vast county. Through grant and board security funding DASO can greatly improve our county's ability to safely and efficiently respond public threats within Doña Ana County....

Advocate vigorously for the growth of neighborhood watch groups throughout unincorporated areas of Doña Ana County. Through watch groups DASO will strengthen community support and trust in law enforcement. Working alongside watch groups, DASO will build partnerships with local mental health providers to provide mental health training to deputies and the general public....

Develop active shooter training for the public to educate communities on what they can do in the event of an active shooting. Additionally work with the Office of Emergency Management to create an active shooter program to notify the public through telecommunications in the event of an active shooting....
